How to Send a Fake Location on Telegram

Telegram supports both static pins and live location. Both rely on system GPS, and Telegram does no verification. Four methods for iPhone and Android in 2026.

how to send fake location on telegram

Telegram has two location features: "Send Location" (a one-off pin) and "Share My Live Location" (continuously updating). Both read from your phone's system GPS through the standard location API. Telegram does not verify the source, does not check for mock location flags, and renders any shared location as a normal map preview.

Four methods to send fake locations on Telegram, on iPhone and Android.

Method 1: Send an Apple Maps Card via Location Changer (iPhone, Free)

Telegram on iPhone renders Apple Maps links as map previews with the address and a tap-to-open button. Location Changer generates a fully-formed card with the address, exact coordinates, elevation and the Apple Maps link, all auto-populated for whatever spot you pick on the world map.

Steps

  1. Open Location Changer, tap any spot on the map.
  2. Tap Share, choose Telegram.
  3. Pick the chat. The message goes through with the address, coordinates, elevation and Apple Maps link.

What the recipient sees: a map preview tile with the address, indistinguishable from a real Apple Maps share. Tapping opens Apple Maps to that exact spot.

Method 2: Google Maps Share Link (Both Platforms, Free)

Works on iPhone and Android with no extra app. Telegram renders Google Maps links the same way it renders Apple Maps links: as a map preview tile.

  1. Open Google Maps.
  2. Long-press the spot you want. A pin drops.
  3. Tap the pin info card.
  4. Tap Share, choose Telegram.
  5. Pick the chat and send.

For an extra polish, paste the address and coordinates as a separate text message right after. The two messages together feel natural.

Method 3: Live Location with Android Mock Location (Free)

Telegram's "Share My Live Location" broadcasts your real-time GPS to a chat for a chosen duration (15 minutes, 1 hour, or 8 hours). To make this fake on Android, override the GPS first.

  1. Settings, About phone, tap Build number 7 times to unlock Developer Options.
  2. Install "Fake GPS Location" by Lexa or "GPS JoyStick" from Play Store.
  3. Settings, System, Developer Options, "Select mock location app," pick the fake GPS app.
  4. Open the fake GPS app, set a spot, tap Start. Leave it running.
  5. Open Telegram, open the chat, tap the paperclip, then Location, then "Share My Live Location." Pick a duration.
  6. Telegram broadcasts the fake coordinates as if you were there.

For a walking effect, use a fake GPS app with route playback at realistic speed. Your live location will move organically.

Method 4: Live Location on iPhone (USB Spoofer)

iPhone has no public mock location framework, so faking Telegram's Live Location requires a USB spoofer. Tenorshare iAnyGo, iMyFone AnyTo and LocaChange all work on iOS 26. Pricing $9.99-$19.99/month, $60-$80 lifetime.

  1. Plug your iPhone into your Mac or PC, run the spoofer.
  2. Pick the spot you want on the spoofer's map. Start.
  3. Open Telegram, open the chat, paperclip, Location, Share Live Location, pick a duration.
  4. Telegram broadcasts the spoofed GPS.

Keep your iPhone connected to (or near) the computer while the share is active. Most spoofers have a route playback mode for organic-looking movement.

Can Telegram Detect a Fake Location?

No. Telegram does not verify whether a shared location is real. It does not read mock location flags on Android, does not flag spoofed coordinates, and does not warn recipients. The platform treats every shared location as trustworthy and renders it as a normal map preview.

Your recipient can spot a fake only if the location contradicts outside information (you said you were home, the pin shows you across town) or if a Live Location moves at impossible speeds.

FAQ

Does Telegram show a mocked indicator?

No. Shared locations all look the same in chat.

Can I send a fake live location for 8 hours?

Yes. Telegram supports 15 minutes, 1 hour, or 8 hours. As long as your spoof method is active (Android mock location on, iPhone spoofer running), the Live Location keeps broadcasting fake coordinates.

Will my contacts get a warning if I send a fake pin?

No. Telegram does not analyze shared locations and never sends warnings about them.

Does Telegram store fake locations differently?

No. The location is stored in the chat history with its coordinates, same as any real share. Recipients can revisit the pin later.
